The Holy Spirit is seeking to make the desperate world conditions an insistent call on our hearts for prayer. Prayer is the primary need. In the efforts of the churches today to respond to these vast needs, the most urgent need is not money, important as it is. Nor is it the need for better plans and organizations, important as these are. Nor is the primary need the demand for more workers, paramount as that may seem. Behind all of these needs, and others, is the basic need for more Spirit-empowered prayer. If this need were adequately met, all these other needs would soon be supplied.
