This morning I leave for the Shepherds’ Conference. I have been to the Shepherds’ Conference numerous times. Why go again — and again?
For the fellowship. For the worship. For the privilege of having someone lead me to worship the Lord. For the preaching that is far more than just a great model of excellent exposition — it’s an encouragement and challenge to my own heart. I go to hear the Word of God so that my own heart is changed in greater conformity to Christ. For the joy of being with two or three thousand other men who also love Christ and want to be fed by His Word. For the example of a church that does ministry well. And for the books, too…
Throughout the week I will be attempting to post my notes from the sessions as quickly as I can, and then some pictures and summaries later in the week.
