Reading Numbers

The book of Numbers, while often regarded among the less “interesting” books in Scripture to read, is an important book for it is the book of testing for the nation of Israel.  And through the testing, the nation discovers that God is faithful to His promises and His people.

In addition, the holiness of God is further reiterated, as well as the Abrahamic covenant. Also, despite the fact that the nation was disobedient seemingly throughout the book, God demonstrated His patience with them continually, although they still had to bear the punishment of their actions.  So the book of Numbers is a book of encouragement and hope about the God who upholds His word and promises.
