Ecclesiastes may be one of the more misapplied books of the Bible because it has been often understood to be pointing out the hopelessness of life only. Many writers have failed to see in this book any measure of hope and joy.
And perhaps if one excluded reading the final verses of the book that might be so. But those key verses offer direction for where one might find hope — in the fear of God and obedience to His Word.
