The gospel and spiritual depression‬‏

Years ago, I came across the phrase, “the gospel is for every day.”  That is, the gospel continues to have implications for the believer in Christ not only on the day of his conversion, but every day of his life.  The gospel is the way we live.  Each day we breath out confession and breath in forgiveness.  Every day we recognize our unworthiness for salvation and its benefits and every day we thank God for the multiplied graces received from Him.  Every day we consciously affirm that we are unable to carry out the task given to us and every day we appropriate the grace given to us so that we are equipped to do that which God has called us to do.

The gospel is for every day.
