Continuing the theme that he explained in his book, Don’t Waste Your Life, John Piper visited Angola Prison last fall and encouraged the believers there not to waste their life sentence.
I typically don’t watch videos like this — but when someone gave me a preview copy of this a couple of months ago, I was riveted. Prisoners only leave Angola prison in a casket; everyone there is on a life sentence with no possibility of parole. And there is a dramatic transformation taking place there with a large portion of the prison population turning to Christ.
This DVD is worth purchasing and watching and sharing with a family member of someone who is in prison or jail. It is possible to live for the glory of God in prison. It is possible to live for Christ in prison. And it is possible to find redemption and freedom spiritually even while physically confined behind bars.
