In his sermon this morning, Pastor Keith offered a helpful distinction between impatience and urgency as those attitudes relate to evangelism.
IMPATIENCE — a prayerless, fear-oriented anxiety of heart which results in pursuing the believer in reckless and overbearing ways that are inconsistent with biblical love and grace, all without submission to or trust in God’s wise timing and purposes.
URGENCY — a prayer-saturated, wisdom-guided soberness which expresses to the unbeliever both the weightiness of the matter and the danger of unnecessary delay in responding to it, all motivated by a trusting and quiet heart which is resting in God’s sovereign timing and plan
As you share the gospel, are you impatient, or working with urgency?
