God, our refuge

While redeemed from sin, no believer in Christ lives perfectly.  Every believer knows the daily (hourly? minute-by-minute?) battle with the flesh.  Paul knew it (see Romans 7:14-25) and so do we.

How can a believer stand more effectively?  What will transform our hearts and change the way we live so that we are more like the Savior we love?  The psalmists offer some hints in Psalms 45-47:  good theology produces transformed living.

Or maybe more precisely, believing good theology produces transformed living.

Notice the connection between what the psalmists believe and how they live:

If we are living poorly — if we are continuing to be ensnared by various sins — is it because we have not believed the truth about God and what He is working in our lives?
