I wrote the benediction below for the conclusion of our worship service this morning; it also serves as a fitting prayer for the beginning of a new week. The content of this prayer is taken from 1 Peter 1:2-9.
May grace and peace be yours in fullest measure.
May you know the power of the living hope of the resurrection in which you have been born again.
May you live for the inheritance, which is imperishable and undefiled and is reserved in Heaven for you.
May you know the power of God’s protection of your salvation, which is yet to be fully revealed.
May you rejoice greatly in your salvation, even thought at times this week you may endure a variety of trials.
May your joy in those trials demonstrate the proof of your faith.
And though you have not yet seen Jesus, may you love Him and believe Him and rejoice in Him. Amen.
