God knows…

God knows the name of every star (and by extension, every heavenly body); He not only knows their names, but He named every star, solar system, galaxy, and universe.  He numbers, names, and monitors each and every one (Ps. 147:4; Is. 40:26).

God knows the average number of hairs on every head — about 100,00, though redheads are typically a little less (about 90,000), and blondes quite a bit more (about 150,000).  But he also knows the exact number of hairs on every head of every person currently on earth (now approaching 8 billion) — and every person who ever has lived and who ever will live (Mt. 10:30).

God knows every bird (we can assume also their individual names, Ps. 50:11) in the sky and is aware when a single bird falls out of its nest to the ground (or is eaten by a predator, or lays its eggs) (Mt. 10:29).  In fact, the Father not only knows about the most “insignificant” bird, but as Creator who is sovereign over all His creation, He wills what happens in the life of each bird, even feeding them individually (Mt. 6:26).

God knows every part of His creation.  He knows every cattle on every hill (Ps. 50:10) and everything that moves in every field in any place — every livestock, every mouse, every crawling or flying insect — He knows it all, because it all belongs to Him (Ps. 50:11b), and He feeds them all — cattle, bird, and more (Ps. 147:9).  He knows the birth of every animal in every place (Job. 39:1-4) and when they grow, He knows where they go.  He even knows and uses birds to bring food to prophets who are “hidden” (not just being food for mankind! 1 Kings 17:4).

God knows and owns everything in everything in the world.  He knows every person, every animal, every kind of vegetation (tree, shrub, plant, grass, weed, crop, vegetable, fruit, and herb), and every topographic feature — mountains, hills, valleys, canyons, bluffs, oceans, seas, rivers, tributaries, creeks, ponds (tanks, in Texas!), and dried river beds (Ps. 50:12).

God knows everything that happens in creation.  He knows every raindrop (Ps. 147:8; Job 38:9), every snowflake (Job 38:22), every blade of grass that grows (Ps. 147:8), every catastrophe (Job 38:25-30).  God knows where the sun and light as well as night and dark “live” and are “stored” (Job 38:19-20, 24).

God knows everything there is to know about every individual person. He knows everywhere they are at every moment in time (Ps. 139:7-12); darkness and the depths of the sea cannot hide us from His knowledge.  He knows every aspect of every man’s body — the forming of the individual skeletal and muscular structure, organs, and blood vessels (Ps. 139:13-18). He knows every thought and desire of every man and holds every person accountable for every one of those thoughts (Ps. 33:13-15; 1 Cor. 4:4-5; Heb. 4:12-13).  He knows every righteous and sinful deed of every man and will judge all those deeds (Jn. 12:48; 1 Cor. 14:24-25).

God knows all things unendingly.  His knowledge of all things is infinite in both breadth (all things) and scope (in every way).  His understanding is infinite (Ps. 147:5; Acts 15:18).  He knows everything in time and space, and He knows everything that was and will be in eternity (Is. 46:10).

God knows all things intuitively.  God never learns, never increases in knowledge, never develops a greater awareness, and never needs correction (Is. 40:13-14; Job 40:7-8).

God knows all things transcendently (Is. 55:8-9).  God’s knowledge is not attainable by man.  These few things listed above are merely the things we know that God knows — things that He knows which we do not know nor ever can know.  We cannot even conceive of the infinite things He knows that are beyond our comprehension.

Because God knows all things infinitely well, though He would teach us for all eternity, He would never run out of things to instruct us (Eph. 2:7).

God knows.

And because God knows, we praise Him (Rom. 11:33-36).
