What I’ve lately been reading and listening to in books and blogs that is noteworthy:
- Desiring God, “The Difference Between Christianity and Buddhism”
- Al Mohler, “Permanence Before Experience — The Wisdom of Marriage”
- Al Mohler, “‘This is Life We’re Talking About’ — Abortion and the Health Care Bill”
- John Piper talks about “My 2010 Writing Leave: What? and Why?”
- Colin Marshall and Tony Payne, The Trellis and the Vine (review coming soon) — a really excellent book about ministry and relationships in the church body
- Shepherds’ Conference book sale — purchase books at the same price that they were made available at the Shepherds’ Conference (thru 3/31). There are some good deals to be had here.
- A couple new books I’ve been reading that I’m really enjoying:
- Todd Murray, Beyond Amazing Grace: Timeless, Pastoral Wisdom from the letters, sermons and hymns of John Newton
- Helen Roseveare, Give Me This Mountain
- A couple sermons that have particularly challenged and encouraged me:
- David Platt, “Missions Conference Message” (3/10/10)
- Steve Lawson, “The Invisible War” (Job 1)
- Paul Tripp, “If Only I Had…”
