Too often I have experienced the phenomena of reading my Bible in the morning, closing it, and not remembering anything particular that I have read. I don’t think my experience is unique.
As Don Whitney has explained, it is often due to lack of meditation. [His rule of one minute of meditation and reflection for every two minutes of reading has proven especially helpful for me.]
In an attempt to help people in our church and my counselees develop more consistent and helpful quiet times with the Lord, I adapted a one-page “Bible Study Guide” I received from someone else. Here is my effort (in both PDF and Word format).
I’m providing the Word format so you can make changes to fit your personal habits. If you come up with something particularly helpful, I’d love to see your efforts or hear how you use this form.
