Good news the day before Christmas

No, the good news is not of a last minute sale with free delivery by Christmas morning.

The good news is that there is rebellion against God and there will be increasing rebellion against God, but that rebellion does not mean that God is overwhelmed.  To the contrary, the good news is that God is always and will always be victorious.  So at the end of the Tribulation, when the religious and political systems are allied (Rev. 17), they are only doing God’s bidding:

“For God has put it in their hearts to execute His purpose by having a common purpose, and by giving their kingdom to the beast, until the words of God will be fulfilled.” (v. 17)

Even their rebellion is ordered and controlled by the sovereignty of God.  And while they resist the Lord, He is victorious over them:

“These will wage war against the Lamb, and the Lamb will overcome them, because He is Lord of lords and King of kings, and those who are with Him are the called and chosen and faithful” (v. 14).

That’s good news for the coming day of Tribulation.  And it’s good news today, the day before Christmas.  God is sovereign and supreme.
