Found recently around the internet:
- A new album from Sovereign Grace — “Risen.” You can listen to every track — and then purchase it as a download for only $5. What I’ve heard so far sounds good.
- There is much digital ink being spilled (digitized?) over Rob Bell’s latest book. Many good and biblical responses about the real nature of hell have been written, including these:
- R. C. Sproul, “The Place of God’s Disfavor” (an excerpt from a forth-coming book Unseen Realities: Heaven, Hell, Angels and Demons).
- Rick Wade wisely critiques those who critiqued Rob Bell. “Bashing Rob Bell: On Offering a Responsible Critique” is worth reading as a reminder about how to handle public discourse. Tim Challies had some similar thoughts concerning the speed of responses given without careful thinking, along with a review of the book itself.
- Al Mohler, “We have all seen this before” and a panel with Justin Taylor, Russell Moore, and Denny Burk (video).
- Jonathan Edwards, “The Eternity of Hell’s Torments”
- “To love your neighbor you must neighbor” — wise counsel and practical “how to” about cultivating relationships with gospel purposes.
- If you have younger children, this 6-month Bible reading plan for children compiled by David Murray might be of benefit to you.
- Free audio book: The Hiding Place.
- “If…Then in 1 John”
- Murmuring — a really bad idea. Thomas Brooks got it right — “Murmuring suits none so badly as saints.”
- The word “heresy” is used quite frequently in Christian discussions about disputed teaching. But could you give a good definition of heresy? Read “Heresy, what is it?” for a concise definition and discussion.
- “Five Way to Make Your Kids Hate Church”
- The Gospel Coalition published a series on “The Theology of Work”
- Alex Chediak wrote “Thriving at College” for Table Talk; he has also recently released a book with the same title: Thriving at College.
- How are Christians in Japan responding to their disaster? Here is a series of brief blog posts from a pastor. A telling statement of the condition of the church there: “From the 160 members I have been in touch with, all I hear are words like, ‘God is great. I want to trust Him as I walk with Him from now on.’ I marvel at the strength of their faith in the Lord.”
