Some helpful and interesting articles I’ve bookmarked recently (or not so recently):
- No, you don’t need to unplug from social media, but these two articles might help you think about how to use social media wisely: “Digital Detox, Intentional Ignorance, and the Proximity Principle” and “I Changed My Mind About Social Media: Why I Decided to Quit.”
- Tim Challies is right (and the title says it all): “You Will Never Regret The Sins You Do Not Commit.”
- A mother writes her doctor two years after he advised her to abort her baby that was diagnosed with Down Syndrome: “My child was perfect: A mother reflects, two years after a life-changing diagnosis.”
- Don Whitney asks good questions; “31 questions to ask for a more Christ-centered 2024” is another list of helpful questions at the beginning of this year.
- Samuel D. James helps us think about manhood, purpose, and failure in “Let Me Live Again: George Bailey and the soul of a man.”
- Do you still need a Bible reading plan for 2024? Try these from our church, or these from TGC.
- If you have children in your home (especially teens), you will be helped by “5 Conversation Killers for Children and Teenagers” by Kevin Carson.
- Kevin DeYoung asks and answers, “Is It Wrong to Have Sex Before Marriage?” and Samuel Ferguson identifies “3 Core Beliefs of the Transgender Movement.”
- It’s not mentioned as frequently in the news, but these articles about Israel are still relevant: “Tears over Zion: A prayer from Psalm 98,” “Should I pray for the peace of Jerusalem?,” and ““
- You may not be aware of the truth of Sybil’s story, but we all need to “Remember Sybil” because her story has relevance for current sociological debates.
